For all appointment requests, or health advice, please call the surgery on 01792 298554 or via AMGP
Our reception team will take a brief outline of your problem to assess whether a GP is the most appropriate clinician to see. They will guide you to the right service or book you an appropriate appointment with a clinician.
Our GPs work using a mixture of pre-booked appointments and on the day triage. This means that the most appropriate appointment for you may be the next available pre-bookable slot with a GP, Nurse or Pharmacist.
To help our GPs triage safely and effectively, we kindly ask that patients provide the reception team with a short summary of the issue. One of our GPs may return your call to decide whether your concern can be managed over the phone or whether you need to be seen in the surgery. If a face-to-face appointment is needed, the doctor will arrange this for you.
Alternatively, you can submit your request online via AskMyGP, available Mon-Fri 8-10am for appointment requests or health advice. A member of the surgery team will contact you via your preferred method (where appropriate) to arrange an appointment or to discuss your request further.
We kindly ask that patient requests are sent under the correct patient details to ensure all requests are inputted into the correct records and the GP can access any previous requests if needed.

We are encouraging everyone who has access to a computer, smart phone or tablet to use askmyGP:
- it saves you time
- really ill patients don’t have to wait for urgent slots at the end of surgeries
- GPs can manage their time more effectively, booking any follow-up appointments you might need
We have a policy of seeing acutely unwell children aged 16 and under on the same day and sometimes they will be seen ahead of other patients waiting. We would ask patients to be sympathetic to this approach.
Please attend your appointment.
Once you have been offered an appointment, it is important that you attend at the scheduled time. Missed appointments mean valuable clinical time is lost and can delay care for other patients who are waiting to be seen.
If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to another patient. You can cancel your appointment by contacting the surgery.
Where possible, we ask that patients arrive a few minutes before their appointment. If you arrive late, you may be asked to rebook if there is insufficient time for the clinician to see you safely.
Home Visits
Our GPs offer home visit appointments for housebound, palliative care or end of life patients. These are usually carried out at the end of the GP’s morning clinic and are generally arranged following a triage call with a GP.
If you require a home visit, please inform the reception team when booking your appointment or triage call.
Routine GP Reviews
If you are aged 16 to 74 and have not been seen by a GP within the last three years, you can request a routine GP appointment for a review.
If you are aged 75 or over and have not been seen within the last 12 months, you can request a routine GP review.
Please contact our reception team to arrange an appointment.
Private Medical Examinations
These are carried out outside normal surgery times. Please speak to a receptionist to arrange a convenient appointment.
