Health Visitor


The Health visitor is a qualified nurse with special training and experience in child health, health promotion and health education. Every child under five years of age has a named Health Visitor and she is responsible for monitoring growth, well–being and development of children.
The health visitor will be able to provide information and support on any issues that the parents may have, including:
  • Sleep problems
  • Dietary problems and advice
  • Bed wetting
  • Speech problems
  • Hearing and vision problems
The Health Visitor can also provide you with advice regarding the childhood immunisations and vaccination programme.
They run developmental screening of all children under 5 years of age. This is carried out within the baby clinic which are held on a weekly basis
